Yay us! We seem to have successfully derailed several proposed 5G bills, however, SB2527 is now
in the Ways and Means (WAM) committee with a hearing this Wednesday (2-26-20) at 1:40pm. No public testimony is allowed there, but we can email (sample text & addresses below) the WAM committee members. Please take action now! "Broadband" by their definition includes wireless and 5G!
You do not have to write long testimony! Just put "Oppose SB2527" in the subject line.
Here are 2 different sample testimonies. Copy/paste one of them and add a few of your own words.
1) This bill includes funding more cell towers/antennas and I do not want my tax dollars used for this! Harm from wireless radiation is well established in hundreds of independent scientific studies. There will be multiple lawsuits coming as a result of our government supporting dangerous wireless infrastructure. This is the next tobacco debacle. Please do not approve this bill unless you REMOVE from
its broadband definition: "wireless media, such as satellite communications, wi-fi, and worldwide interoperability for microwave access". We support fiber to the premises, which is safer and more secure. We oppose harmful microwave technology.
2) This bill includes more cell towers and antennas. I live in a rural area in Hawaii and I do not want more cell towers and antennas. They are ugly, reduce property values, are not secure, and they emit dangerous microwave radiation. Please do not approve this bill unless you REMOVE from its broadband definition: "wireless media, such as satellite communications, wi-fi, and worldwide
interoperability for microwave access". Fiber to the premises is good. More towers are bad. Enough already.
